What Are Opal Patterns?
🌌 Unique Natural Designs
Each stone forms with its own unique pattern. These natural designs from black opals to crystal, white, and boulder opals are what make every gem one of a kind. The rarest patterns give opals higher value, especially when combined with rare colours.

👀 Combinations of Patterns
Combinations of patterns create more desirable and valuable gems, as opals with multiple patterns are rarer. A rare mix of colours and patterns can produce investment‑level opals that only appear once in a blue moon.
👏 Commonly Known Opal Patterns
Some of the most commonly known patterns are: Flagstone, Moss, Broad Flash, Chaff, Harlequin, and Pinfire.
⛏️ Opals Mined Personally
I sometimes fly to Australia to mine opal myself, sourcing directly from Australia. This means when you buy from me, you’re getting stones that are hand‑selected at the source - authentic gems with a story behind them. My customers know me for this personal approach, which ensures quality and trust.
